Cool!

Wow! It's Wednesday already. I'm getting over a cold. It's kinda difficult to breathe with only 1/2 of a nostril working.

I actually drove to the Y this morning to get my 30 minutes run in for the day. About one mile on the treadmill, I drove home and ran outside. It is too cool and too pretty for me to waste it. I took Paddy Wag with me. She was excited.
No leash for her.
No Garmin strapped around my wrist either.
We were just running on our familiar stomping ground, so I know the distance that I would cover.
Three miles total.

It was quite an interesting run. It was not even 6:00 a.m. when we started, so it was quite dark. Paddy Wag, being a black dog, is kinda difficult to spot, erm, in the dark .... except for her bright neon orange collar. I was keenly attuned to my sense of hearing.  I heard every rustle in the woods, distant barking of dogs, my shoes pounding on gravel, my breathing, Paddy's breathing, her tags jingling away, gentle breeze against my ears.  This is the run that made me smile. I had totally forgotten about keeping time of my run for the first mile out there.  When we returned to the house, I decided to go for another mile. My iPhone said it was 6:07 and when we finished that mile, the time was 6:16. Pretty speedy, I think. :)

Apart from this run, I haven't done anything at all this week. No strength training. No yoga. No eating well either. I will get back to it.

Also, apparently, I don't have to run a long run this week. So, either I stick to the plan or modify a little around it. :) I may throw in some inclines and a mid-long run .... We'll see. Nothing's set in stone.

That's all folks.
I love cold weather!
