Hogeye Half Marathon: My pace at each mile.

Mostly walked/ran some 13.19 miles in 3:10:48.

Mile 1 and 2: 14:43 and 14:25  I walked the first 2 with a mother-son pair. It was awkward not being able to go fast. It was awkward trying to keep a conversation going with someone I didn't know, especially since I am not much of a talker.

Mile 3: 12:30
I took off. It was exhilarating!

Mile 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9: 13:41, 13:10, 13:39, 13:48, 13:20, 13:57.
I ran/walked Mile 4 to 9. I used cones, trees, mailboxes, driveways, lampposts as reference points. I had to remind myself not to gun it at this point in time. It is still too soon in the race to start having knee pains.  So, I would actually stop and walk before my knee could complain. I think I did a good job. I am actually pretty stoked about this run/walk pace.  Majority of these were walking paces. I didn't run a lot. And my pace was decent.  It was a goal to keep my pace under 15:00 min/mile.
Anyway, when my knee is well, I will actually try out running/walking a long run and see what it does to my pace.  I am looking forward to that day!

Mile 10: 15:20
I passed an aid station and asked for beer.  It was a smart move because the water and Gatorade were kinda warm but the beer stayed cool and spritzy. And I was HUNGRY!
My knee started hurting after the beer and I pretty much quit running at this point. I might have hobbled to a tree or so though.

Mile 11, 12, 13, 0.1: 16:17, 16:34, 16:35 16:57
At about mile 13, I was passed by the first lady coming in from her marathon, who would be 2nd overall runner. She was fast. And she made it looked seamless and easy.  If my knees were giving me trouble, I probably would just followed her and paparazzied her! Haha.
