Hey blogging friends,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while.
Many of you knew that I was visiting my family in Singapore, and then, I went on a week's vacation in Japan with my best friend. I haven't ran much since that Sunday 10K run/walk with a friend.
Today, I did a short 1-miler with my Paddy Wag.
Buttercup tagged along even though she is in a pretty poor shape. So we took it easy.
Anyway, I am back. I am working on getting over with the jet-lag. And I am sharing some pictures of my trip.
We arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport and drove to pit stop #1.
Drove through Tokyo and saw the Tokyo Tower.
Stopped somewhere to have lunch.
Didn't know what I ordered.
I saw a picture, I pointed to it, and this picture shows me, wondering how to work this dish.
We slept. We ate. We got up and headed to Izu Peninsula.
This is the southernmost tip of the peninsula.
This is the southernmost tip of the peninsula.
Gorgeous view overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
After this, we went to the Seven Falls of Kawazu.
This is one of the waterfalls.
Next day, we went to Lake Ashi area and took the ropeway, hoping for a glimpse of Mt. Fuji.
See Mt. Fuji?
These are some of the food we ate.
We didn't know what we were eating many times.
The protocol: Take a bite. Swallow it/spit it out.
The one of the right might be horse meat since this specific region is known for its horse meat.
I took a bite. And never went back for a second bite
There are a lot more photos. I will probably post them as my best friend uploads them on Facebook.
The trip was interesting.
The lack of an English radio station and the paucity of someone who knows English at least up to 1st grade level are reasons why I may not go back again to Japan to visit.
I mean, it is pretty frustrating when you can't tell the waiter what you want to eat.
Lots of changes will happen over the next few weeks.
I'll be moving.
I'll be busy.
I'll probably be a little nutty.
Bear with me as I will most definitely take it to the roads to run off steam.
And bloggy friends, I am darn happy to be back!
