Much Ado About Nothing

I wouldn't necessary call this morning run as epic failure. But it sure was a whole lot of nothing.
I was up at about 3 a.m., excited for a run, excited to take my new shoes I bought yesterday out for a spin.
6 a.m. rolled around and Mr. J and I were off running. Ms. M wasn't there - I guess her knee is still hurting.  I told Mr. J that I only have 3 miles on tap.  It started off ok ... and about 0.5 mile into it, I felt a familiar funny feeling.  I gave the "o0ps!" talk to Mr. J and started planning alternate routes for him to do so he will get his run he came to do. We started walking at about 1 mile.
Not pretty.

Race Day strategy....
Well, I am just going to walk the half marathon. The hotel and registration are paid for, so, I might as well show up and get a medal to add to my Christmas tree this year.   Yep. No expectation. Just walking the entire race.

Meanwhile, I am just going to ride my  bicycle. Bummer. Right. But oh well.

  2. The half is in northern Arkansas. It is quite pretty up there so, I guess, I will walk and enjoy being out there. :)

  10. I love the motivation to wake up early to run!! If you want to spice it up a little, you might want to consider doing Rebel Race. It is a really fun mud run with obstacles like a wall climb called the Great Wall of Rebel Race. They have another obstacle called Ninja Turle Tunnels. Its time to relive our childhood- lol. The website is www.rebelrace.com

  13. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll probably be walking more than I want to at the half as well. But I'm going to give it my best.

You'll be back in the saddle in no time at all!
