And so I Told An Unintentional Fib

I wrote on Wannabe Runner's blog post that I was going to head out to the gym and knock out a 5K.
I did go to the Y. Turns out, they were closed at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. I was there at 6:10 p.m.  O0ps!
In a way, I was secretly glad because I was lazy.  I didn't want to run.  I drove my happy lazy posterior back to the house, saw Paddy Wag and decided that she and I can do an easy 1 miler.  No leash. No Garmin. No nothing. Just Paddy Wag and Me.

I was glad I did it. The heat index was 100, but I was glad I did it.  Unlike you summer heat ninjas running megamajillion miles in the heat, I did a full ONE MILE!  Nope, it wasn't far. But I think Paddy enjoyed it. This is our first run since Buttercup's death. We all need a good start.

Thanks for all your kind words about Buttercup. I'm ok, really. Buttercup was a brave strong dog. She was found abandoned at the house's mailbox when she was a mere puppy. And over the years, she has had several health problems - and she always bounced back into the pink of health.  But she was getting really old and she seemed really miserable. and we know, she is in a good place now.

  1. Haha, reading that you were secretly happy made me smile. :) Nice job getting out there with Paddy! I bet you both loved it. One mile always beats none. You and your pups have been in my thoughts.

  2. Nice job getting out there, despite the heat! Going for one in this heat is probably harder than a 5k on the treadmill!

  5. I think the Pam is to spray her feet in her bike shoes because she doesn't wear socks but I could be wrong. She asked me to bring it and I did. Thanks for the nice comments.

  7. How fun that you two ran together! I always want to do that with my little Lady but she can't keep up. We've done a couple of runs and she was so much fun. But a mile is all she can do. If it was that hot though? Yeah, she and I would be inside together hiding from Mr. Sunshine!
