Tomorrow ... Tomorrow ....

I'm in a gunk of a funk mood.
This is helping some.

Are runners just a different breed of people?
Do runners expect a lot out of themselves?
And do runners expect a lot of others too?

Today's run was just blah.
The legs won't move like it should be.
The ponytail didn't bounce like it should be.
I wasn't go as fast as what I have been doing.
I decided to do inclines instead and made myself finish 2 miles.
And I didn't do inclines because I was feeling tough. It was more like an out .... (If I do inclines, I am not going to finish what was prescribed on the training plan.)
I just wasn't feeling the run.

After this substandard run, I was just drenched in disappointment with myself.
My mind wasn't strong and determined to finish 30 minutes on the treadmill.
I gave in to a weak mind.
What was frustrating was I was pretty close to 30 minutes and I just gave up.
I gave up.
I threw in the towel.

I expect myself to be a fighter.
I expect myself to conquer a weak mind.
I expect today's short run to be better than the pretty freaking fantastic 8-miler I had last week.
I also expect my chicken salad to turn out yummlicious. It was edible. But it sure isn't something I am going to make for a while.
Lastly, I expect myself to quit whining about this.

OK.
Tomorrow will be better.
Tomorrow ... you are only a day away ....

  2. Tomorrow will be better, I'm sure. Sometimes you need a bad run in order to appreciate the good ones :)

    Only when life is difficult,
are we challenged to become our greatest selves.

  5. I definitely think runners are a group that's very hard on themselves. We have one bad run and decide to beat ourselves up. I had a blah run this morning too. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for us!
