Jinxed Myself with Stupid Goals!

There you go.
I am all about posting today because apparently, today has been very happening for me.
I was all gung-ho about achieving my 15 minutes of activity everyday goal. I figured this would be a great goal where I get my activity and get to spend some good ol' quality time with my Paddy Wag.

Took Paddy Wag out to the backyard/woods to potty and the plan was to go walk and stomp around in the woods. She did her business. I let the leash down so she can run a little. She went bozo crazy! She was not just running, but zooming and darting and the she zoomed some more. Like a possessed speed demon.
She was fast! Really really really fast. Like almost super-sonic fast!
Then, my big mouth had to call her.
"Hey Paddy Wag. Come to momma."

And there she comes.....

"Oh NO!" was what came to my mind.
She came. Right smack at me.
I heard my right ankle went "crack" and "crack."
Yep. Twice. I had to land onto the ground.
Paddy Wag came by me while I whinced and whined in pain.
She licked my ankle. She stayed with me.  We sat on the ground until I could finally muster up some courage to limp my way up the slope back to the house.

Been limping since then.

So, I jinxed myself.

Tell me what I can do to make this a speedy recovery. Like Speedy! Like Paddy Wag's speed demon's speedy!

  1. Ice!

Man, that sounds painful. Rest and Ice is the best I can offer.

  5. I am totally visualizing my Flash doing the same thing with his 120 lb all love frame. How are you doing? Want to join my ankle injury club? It is not fun...you have to watch what you eat and cross train :-)

  7. I am *so* sorry to hear that. WE've all been there. We'll I've never been taken down by my dog but I did twist my ankle pretty badly when I stopped into one of the many holes she dug on our property.

Ice, of course, but the best thing is to not be too quick to get back to your usual routine. Rest. Ice. Heat. Stretch. Ibuprofen. Then walk. No need to turn an injury into long term damage. Go swimming!
