This Is Why She Is One Of My Favorite Runners.

This is why I like Kara Goucher.

Just a few snippets of what she said in this interview.
"... stop making excuses for myself."
"I feel so scared ... because I care."
"What am I doing? All these opportunities are passing me by."
"I just had to make a choice."
"I have to face the fact that I am not doing everything I can do. I am not working as hard as I could be working."

I believe we can all apply this in life, not just running.
Are you doing everything you can do?
Are you working as hard as you could be working?
Stop making excuses for yourself.
Go do it. Go care.

  2. I felt the same way after my Half last weekend. I didn't do as well because I didn't train for the hills that I knew were there.

But on the flip side, she's right about her "legitimate excuses". She does have a family and is is a mom. But she's a professional. And that's awesome for her!

I don't have the luxury of exhausting myself in the middle of the week, cuz my kids don't care that I just ran 13 miles. I still have to wipe noses, do laundry and cook dinner. And they don't deserve to have an exhausted mommy. And I still have to work at a regular ole job.

Right now, being a wife 'n' mom has to be more important to me but I'll tell ya.... My husband gets it so he's cool but as soon as my kids get to that age where they don't want anything to do with me, I'll training for the Full. I'll give it all I've got and I'm gonna kick its arse!!!

    GREAT post!!! Loved it!
