July 4th Recap

I hope everyone had a great July 4th. Since the workers at my boyfriend's office decided to work Wednesday and take Friday off instead, we had a little July 4th lunch at the office. We usually provide lunch for July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I do most of the cooking. And usually the cooking starts the night before. I didn't go to bed until about 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

I wished I had taken pictures of the food, but in the midst of trying to get everything set up and feed everyone, it totally slipped my mind. We had BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs/buns, potato salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad, slaw and baked beans. Oh, and watermelon for dessert. Since the workers are all burly manly men, the meat and potatoes and beans were gone relatively quickly.

In the evening, I went to my boyfriend's aunt's church for a firefighter fundraiser. I ended up babysitting a one-year-old cousin while her momma was busy getting stuff ready. So again, no picture! Try running around after a 1-year-old with a 21-week belly. It is a workout. :) This little Mayberry-ish community took up money and bought fireworks. I was too tired to stay for that, so I went home and fell asleep quite immediately.

So, needless to say, other than the cardio workout with the one-year-old, I didn't walk on the treadmill. I probably ate a little more than usual yesterday too. So I better balance it out today.

Got the sheets in the laundry and the bathroom thoroughly cleaned!
And off to the treadmill.

  2. Sounds like a good holiday! Watermelon is the best in the summertime - I've eaten a lot already!
