Where Did The Time Go?

Can you believe it that we are already almost done with January?
The first week was a blur. We were recovering from all the holiday festivities. Christmas and New Year were great - it was quiet. It was spent with family. And I continue to rest a lot too.

I am back at work again. It sure takes some getting used to. Leaving Baby Jack with the sitter wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I mean, after all I had already left him a week with his grandmother while I was at the hospital.  I also have been leaving him with one of his aunts for an hour or so while I run errands around town.  So, this was helpful. I felt a huge tinge of "missingness" while driving him to the sitter, but I didn't tear or anything.

Baby Jack and the sitter's daughter.

So, here's an update on what's going on with our lives lately, random thoughts-style, enhanced with pictures.

1. My weakness: European chocolate cookies. Intervention needed. Pronto.

I am imposing a 3-cookies-a-day rule.

2. Baby Jack is surrounded by sweet and pretty girls.  Lucky fella!

His cousins fight over holding him.
Even named a Cabbage Patch doll "Jack" so they both get a turn with the real "Jack."
3. Dedicated mother? Pumping while driving.

Don't worry. I had the whole thing set up and all I had to do is just turn it on.

4. Last Monday and Tuesday were bad-weathered days for us. Sleet and ice. Roads were slushy, icy, and slippery. Dangerous driving.

5. Had to reschedule my doctor's appointment. I am a little excited and nervous to go see the doc for my post-op follow-up later this week.

  2. LOL - pumping while driving! I did that, too, a couple times when Katie was a baby. My plan was working until the time the phone rang and I freaked out because it was my boss and I wanted to answer it, yet knew I couldn't under the circumstances. Be safe!

And that little man is getting so big! Love his hair. :)

  3. I can only imagine how tough it is to leave Jack with a baby sitter. How did you find the baby sitter? Do you know that person? I'm sure that helps!

  4. Jack is getting so big. He looks like he's enjoying all the lovely ladies in his life that are taking care of him and spending time with him.
