And I would run a thousand miles ....

I started logging the miles in January 2010. And today, I have officially logged 1,000 miles.

I have been dying to run the remaining 4.5 miles since after the half marathon on Saturday. But I didn't because my ankles and knee were still kinda sore. But I was literally DYING to run these 4.5 miles. DYING to run. Yeah. DYING to run. That 4.5-miler was on my mind when I go to sleep, when I wake up, when I shower, when I drive, when I eat, when I was typing reports. I was planning on logging those miles in during lunch today, but decided to go eat lunch with two co-workers that I recently got assigned to work with. They invited me and I kinda had to say yes so we can kinda "bond" and establish a healthy, good working relationship. And yes, I thought about those 4.5 miles the whole time I was having lunch.

Five p.m. couldn't come soon enough. And thank goodness it did. I hopped onto the treadmill and took the run slow. I was planning on doing a semi-speed interval thing, but my knee was kinda funky and my ankles were still sore. So I decided to be smart and take it slow and easy. It took a long while, but it was done!

I have this 500 miles song sung to this lyrics the entire time I was running:
When I wake up, yeah I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the girl who's ready for a run.
When I go out, yeah I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the girl who's running along with you.
  And I would run 1,000 miles, and I would run a thousand more.
Just to be the girl that runs a thousand miles and falls down at her door.

I'm stoked!
I'm excited!!
I'm ready for another 1,000 miles and more!!!

WOO HOOOOO!!!!!

I'm thinking about something fun to celebrate this 100 followers milestone.

Yesterday (Tuesday), I did a virtual workout run with Aneta over at My Running Bucket.
Early in the morning, she wrote on my Facebook wall. 
See that "under 9:30?"
Yep!

I needed someone to kick my behind when it comes to speed workout.
I was scared to run this.
I don't think I have ever ran more than 1 minute or 2 minutes of sub 9:30.
I procrastinated.
Played with a baby while I was in my running outfit. 
And finally made it to the Y to get this run done.
I hate to disappoint. :) 
I was super-thrilled when I finished it! 
All 2.57 miles in 27 minutes. 
I did a minute warm-up and cool-down. Walk 1 minute for the recovery jogs. And ran REALLY FAST!
It was, in Aneta's words, "walls to the balls hard." 
It was super satisfying too!
