Money Can't Buy

Tomorrow I have to run.
I think I am supposed to do another 30 minutes, but I may not.
Hoping I will get to bed early, and get up early to run tomorrow.
Maybe a 5-miler on the treadmill?
Maybe another 30 minutes?
Oh well, I will just run according to how my legs feel.

Can't believe this week is almost ending.
And I thought Monday wasn't ever going to end.

Inspire.

I am having a great day today. Since I got my weekend run in yesterday, today, I was just doing fun stuff like laundry and reading and watching "You Got Mail."
Just to make you jealous, I am completely out of dirty clothes to wash. Yes, unless I strip down and throw what I have on into the washer. The last load is in the washer as I type. Ahhh... I love the smell of clean, fresh laundry.  Smells so good.

I was reading "Running With the Legends." This was a gift from a friend. He was at an used book store one day and came across some running books and bought a couple of books for me. I was reading about Joan Benoit Samuelson. WOW!

I'm going to share with you some quotes from her.

"I learn to put something besides myself at the center of my universe.  That came in handy whenever I tried to feel sorry for myself. I was taught to be tough, to meet challenges without flinching. I was also taught to love myself but to strive to be a better person. I learned to value silence and contemplation. I learned how to earn respect. I came away knowing when to laugh."

"Real success comes when a person is able to say of one of her accomplishments, 'That is a good job well done,' and then leave the accomplishment behind."

"Love yourself, for who and what you are; protect your dream and develop your talent to the fullest extent. Don't lose sight of your goals. No matter what the obstacles are, don't let anything deter you from your best effort. Don't allow anyone to tell you what you can and cannot do. Be tough, be stubborn, love yourself, and find friends who believe in you."

And lastly, "Recognize your victories."

Let's share.
Who is your running idol? What is one running quote you live by?
Do tell.
