Dreadmill run wasn't quite as dreadful ...

The alarm went off at 4:45 a.m. and I was not ready to get out of bed. It was warm and it was comfortable. I snoozed for a little bit, but I can see running at the back of my head. Struck with guilt, I got up and managed to stay chirpy.
"It's all in the attitude."  (That will be my mantra when I get lazy).

I finished 3 miles today on the treadmill. It wasn't as dull as I thought it was going to be, even though I forgot to bring my earphones to watch the news.
I did a tempo run (I guess you can call that). Here's the low down.

1st mile = 12:00 min/mile, It was looooong and I felt like I was dragging a bag of gold. Only there weren't any gold or silver to drag, but my lazy butt.
2nd mile = 11:19 min/mile. It got better. Felt lighter and more in the zone.
3rd mile = 10:55 min/mile. The fastest pace I have sustained thus far. Breathing heavily. And the good thing? I'm still breathing.

Total: 3 miles in 34:41 mins. (The fastest I have been so far, other than the 5K Susan G. Komen run I completed last October in about 33 mins).

I feel good and I am ready to get this day started.
Have a wonderful day.

  1. Good job with the run! I don't mind the treadmill that much. Just have to mix it up :). I can't get up that early to run....more power to ya!
