Monday Run and Week's Plan

I spent this past weekend resting the shins. I felt a little guilty not running Saturday's 5-mile long run and putting a check mark on the calendar. I had to tell myself that it's ok because I don't want to really get shin splints.

Come Monday morning and I was itching to go out for a run. Seriously. I don't know when I turned into this person I am now. I drove myself to the Y around 4 p.m. and ran 3 miles. I was supposed to do 3 miles hill work today but since I have no idea how my shins would react to another hill workout, I took it a little easy and ran at 0% incline. I did get a negative split run (starting at 11:00/mile and ended up at a high 9:00/mile pace) in though and I felt awesome good!
Here's what I did: 3 miles in 30:59 minutes.  I stopped at Mile 1.5 and 2 for a brief few seconds to have a sip of water and wipe sweat off my face.

Tomorrow is rest day, and 4 miles Wednesday, 3 miles (maybe do some hills) Thursday and long run 6 miles on Saturday. I just signed up to join the Hard Core Club so I am guessing my first Hard Core workout will be Sunday.  Did I also mention summer break has officially ended today. So, it will be fun trying to really squeeze a run in early in the mornings since I can't just go whenever I wanted now that I have to go to work.

Have a good week ahead.  What are your running goals this week?
