Morning Rush!

This is Week 1 of being back at work. While I am not seeing kids this week, I still have to wake up early and attend lots of inservices and trainings.
Last night, I set my phone's alarm clock to 5:45 a.m.  I figured that would leave me plenty of time to do my 4-miler, stretch, get home, shower, eat breakfast and make myself a Green Monster for the road.

This morning, I finally rolled out of bed at 6:45 a.m.  Maybe it was the staying up late to watch Marley and Me (or something like that). Maybe it was the boyfriend waking me up at 4:30 a.m. when he got home. I don't know. I've kinda convinced that I was going to do my morning run this evening. But I didn't. I got out of bed, got dressed and in the gym a little after 7 a.m.  I only had time to run 3 miles (31:38 minutes). A lot of random thoughts during this run.

Random Thoughts:
  1. I must leave the gym by 7:45 a.m., be home by 8 a.m., shower/blow dry hair/make up/ fix Green Monster and out the door by 8:30 a.m. so I won't be late.
  2. I probably won't have time to run 4 miles.
  3. It's ok. I will run tomorrow's 3 today and today's 4 tomorrow.
  4. What to wear? What to wear? An outfit that always hide all trouble spots and still manage to look prepared and dressed and Christina.
  5. Will I have time to eat the egg white/toast that I had planned this morning?
  6. Will I have time to make the Green Monster for the road?
  7. Oh shoot! Will I have time to stretch?
  8. Stretch in the shower!
  9. Gotto go to bed earlier tonight.
  10. I'm glad I ran!
I was home by 8:00 a.m.. I streteched in the shower, holding my stretches while I shampooed my hair, scrubbed my face etc. I didn't eat my eggs like I wanted. But I did transferred a load of laundry from the washer to the dryer. I made a yummy Green Monster (spinach, soy milk, some OJ concentrate, kiwi and banana) for the road. I was out the door by 8:25 a.m.

Not too shabby eh?

  2. Ok, I just left a comment but somehow it's not there...so sorry if it suddenly shows up and you have two from me :/.

    I have been off school all summer and had to go to some meetings this week and wowzie, what an awakening to be there by 8:00!! When school starts (on the 23rd) I have to be there at 7:00, what a rude awakening I'm going to have. Thankfully I only live 2 miles away from work but still. I just need to be more efficient with my time as you are...and DEFINITELY get to bed earlier, something I am not too good at!

  5. I find it hard to run more than three miles in the morning as well. I squeezed in four last week by some miracle!

  6. I have a similar problem. I need to get up at 5:30 to get in a workout before work. And still it's a rush. I can do it maybe 3 times per week, but that is it. The other days I'm just too tired
