Weekend Roundup

Wooo hooooooo! What a weekend!
Saturday: I drove down to Ruston, La., to visit with a friend and we went to do the last bit of my Christmas shopping. I think I'm through.  I bought a number of "generic" gifts this year so I think that will do the trick for those folks who have everything.  Now, I have to get the wrapping started!

Sunday: Ran this a.m. with Ms. M, Mr. R, and Mr. J. The first time we have 4 people running together. It made the run went by a whole faster.  And I didn't have to worry about keeping the conversation going. I just listen and occasionally, shared a story here and there.  We ran 5.5 miles in 1 hour, 8 minutes.

I've been "cheating" myself a little on my long runs. I have just been doing however far I want to do. So, today, I finally sat down and worked out a schedule and planned runs on my calendar. I like to have it down in writing. It keeps me motivated and accountable.

Two months before RnR Mardi Gras New Orleans! I'm excited. Which means, I really need to get serious with my runs. You know, tempo runs and fartleks and trying to run some good negative splits.

It is hard to believe Christmas is next week!
I watched Charlie Brown's Christmas a few nights ago and all I have to say is, don't forget the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. It is the little things in life that make life complete.

I'm about 30 miles before I'll hit 1000 km for the year. Gee!
