I got in my run after work. I did 30 minutes of speed intervals and covered 2.81 miles. It wasn't bad. It was a little tough. I was sweating and panting when I was through. So, about 2 minutes before my 30-minute mark, a teenager came into the room I was in and stood next to me, examining my treadmill and my data on the treadmill (you know, the miles, pace, calories). Then, he proceeded to tell me that I can set the incline to 15% and walk at 3 miles per hour (or so) and burn X amount of calories. I told him this "I'm not interested in how much calories I burn. Today is speed workout." He looked at me, puzzled, and said something like "huh?" I told him every run has a purpose. There's a run for inclines, there's a run to work on speed, there's a run for endurance. And today is speed. I thanked him for his advice though. Poor child.
Breakfast: Banana + f/f pineapple upside down yogurt + protein powder + skim milk = shake
Lunch: Wendy's Spicy Chicken Salad (half size, no croutons, half a pack of dressing) + small chili
Pre-run snack: Banana
Dinner: Chicken breast + peppers + onions + imitation crabsticks + lemongrass paste = sauce. Serve over some pasta. And 1 oatmeal cookie.
Dessert: Quite possibly be some strawberries and grapes.
What I learned from today's food log-in?
I think I messed up during lunch. I could have either the salad OR chili. But having both is a little much. I mean, I didn't overstuffed myself and felt sick after eating. But I think I would be just fine with either one of those. Maybe I shouldn't eat that oatmeal cookie and instead, ate a piece of fruit. It wasn't that great of a cookie either. :(
Haha, I wonder (1) what made that kid want to give you advice and (2) what he thought when you schooled him.
ReplyDeleteYour daily eats sound delicious!
Remembering why I use a towel to cover all that stuff on the treadmill. I don't want people looking at my numbers.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for schooling him!
Ha, that's funny - I can't believe he had the nerve to totally asses what you were doing!
ReplyDeleteOkay that is freaking awesome!! I would be soooo annoyed if some kid came in and told me what I SHOULD do or COULD do. Let me do what I DO and we'll call it good!
ReplyDeleteI messed up on getting up early this week, too! Totally forgot to even turn my alarms on Tuesday morning!
u tell him! i hate those ppl. unless u have something good and/or useful say, dont talk to me while i run!
ReplyDeletemaybe he was trying to pick you up?
great job on the speed. i have yet to run after my 30k and not because i am sore, but just did not have any motivation. oh well.
aneta
I hate it when the cookie isn't worth it.
ReplyDeleteThat kid should learn...treadmills are built for speed and interval work!
LOVE your answer to the kid! You ARE a RUNNER!!
