I'm on Santa's List.

So I am finalizing details with this man here.

Who's on his "Good" list?
ME.

What's on his list for me?
Well, I kinda have to pay him some big dollars to get on the good list.

This is just an el cheapo treadmill from Sam's Club.
Has a 20" x 55" belt, 2.25 CHP Mach Z motor.
Oooh... It's already in my  Santa's cart.
And I am debating on hitting the "BUY" button.
But I want to go pick it up.
Instant gratification. Well, instant as in 2.5 hour drive instant.

I wanted to impress two 4-year-old country boys during therapy.
We were talking about Christmas trees and how their mommas have Christmas "decowations" out and "Kwismas" trees up.
Me: I think I am just going into the woods and chop a Christmas tree.
Boy 1 and Boy 2 looked in disbelief, shook their heads and said, "Uh uh. You can't do that."
Me: Why not? There are trees in the woods. So I am going to get a tree from the woods.
Boy 1: Cos' "kwismas" trees don't come from the woods. They come from Wal-Mart.
Boy 2: And Fred's

Less fun stuff?
I ran another 3 miles on the treadmill today.
It is kinda depressing, really.
I really don't care for Dr. Oz in the afternoon.
And I don't care for the morning news/show for the area in the morning.
Why can't they play something trashy or mindless - like Say Yes to the Dress or something like that.
I would totally Say Yes to trash-tv.

Random Thoughts and Wish List Ideas

My Thanksgiving break started today after work. I do have some work-related stuff to take care of, but at least, I will be working in the comfort of my home.

Tomorrow is Saturday and I plan on running a long run tomorrow. I want to do a long, not fast run. Maybe a 10K? I will be doing it on the treadmill at the Y. Boring I know.

I don't know what's with me recently about running outside. The weather has turned cool and I love the temperature. But I am not exactly excited about running outside. I think it has to do with the move. Previously, I can run down the end of my street and back and that will be over 5K. And when I crossed the highway and went to the school and back, it will be a good 5 miles. The route is straight and safe. Now, I kinda have to go through some funky parts of town and go through a lot of turns and it just isn't as nice or safe. And there are some unknown looking dogs that I am scared of. Argh!

I used to love running with a running buddy. But I think I have lost some confidence in my running ability. I hate to have my running friend drive 20 miles to where I am and run a mere 4 or 5 miles with me. I also don't want someone physically there to push me or hold me accountable. Yeah. I don't want to be accountable. I'm a lazy runner. Oh no!

I can run up and down the highway. But I hate running alone like that - I don't feel safe. I would love to bring Paddy but she is kinda paranoid about speeding vehicles. What's the deal with "I don't feel safe" ?? But I should trust  my gut feeling right? If I don't feel safe, it probably isn't totally 100% safe.

I bought some mis-tinted paint from Wal-Mart today for $5. I am going to FINALLY paint some shelves and am crossing my fingers so tightly and hoping that it will be an okay color.

On the eating front, I am doing well. I have been watching myself and avoid putting junk in myself. Breakfast was oatmeal and hot tea with milk. Lunch was turkey breast on wheat bread with a slice of harvarti cheese, lettuce and pickles. Tonight, I am going to make myself a brothy chicken soup with some egg noodles. My stomach hasn't been feeling gunked up like it was when I wrote that post about me being dirty.  So this is good!  :)

Lastly, I want to gripe about gift. I don't expect a gift for my birthday or Christmas or anniversary or anything. And I don't mean to be ungrateful. But people knows I am into running and cooking. Why can't they just give me a pair of running socks, or GU, or a Spibelt or a medal hanger or some safety lights. I would much rather people save the money or spend it on themselves instead of splurging on $100 perfumes or some fancy technology stuff that I have to read the manual and set up. Socks are easy. You rip the packaging and wear it. :)

Question of the Day: What's on your Santa wish list?

A little waiting. A little wishing. A little dreaming.

I am eagerly waiting for this to show up in a box at my doorstep.
I hope it gets here soon!
While running on the treadmill at the Y today, I realized I have been paying $24 each month to run 3 times a week at the Y.
3 x 4 = 12 times (in a month)
$24 / 12 = $2 per run.
And I have to run according to the Y's operation hours.
And I have to wear clothes to run.
And while it is better than running outside in the heat, the air is rather still and stale and it gets rather warm after running 5 minutes.
The thermostat is on 70 degrees and there's no fan in the workout room.
So, I am seriously going to get myself a treadmill this Christmas!
I'm starting saving right now.
Say yes to running with fanSSSS blowing into my face.
Say yes to running with a sports bra and jiggly fats and not feeling conscious.
Say yes to running at 4 a.m. or at 1 a.m. or sneaking a 1-miler while that casserole is baking in the oven.

A little dreaming here.
I would also like to set up a workout corner where I will put my running paraphernalia in that room.

I like this room's color and having a quote on that wall.
My corner will be simple. It will have a TV, treadmill, a few fans, my medals.

I like the wall art on the photo below.
I will probably frame some of my race t-shirts, especially that RnR Mardi Gras one cos' it fits in a weird way.

So, there you go.
Do you have a home gym? If so, send me pictures of it.
Tell me what works and what doesn't.
I would love to post it on my blog and share it with others!
Thanks!

Runner's Shopping Spree and Shout-outs.

Happy Sunday!

I was glad I got my long run out of the way Saturday morning because I went to a wedding last night and had an extra glass or two of wine. Today, I don't exactly have a hangover. But I just feel a little blah.

To undo the blah ... Here's what I did.
I went a little crazy with my online shopping spree.

I signed up for the Soaring Wings Half Marathon that's scheduled for next Saturday.
This might be the Running Gods' wishes anyway. This is the race that I had been eyeing since April 2010 when logistics didn't work out for a race I had wanted to do.

And if that hasn't got the blood pumping and the heart racing, I also took the plunge and committed myself to .....

That will be on Valentine's Day eve next year. I will be running with two friends from J-school. And hopefully, I will finally get to meet up with a bloggy friend - Megan. Don't forget to stop by her blog today to check out what's cooking over in Luling, LA. :)

Stop by this Running Man Wannabe's blog to check him out and give him some virtual hi-fives.
I don't think he is a "wannabe" anymore.

And with all the Christmas decorations items up in stores before Halloween is here, I kinda started making a "wish list."
Wish #1: Three half marathons next year  (2011)
Wish #2: One 10K race
Wish #3: Start feeling it for a full marathon.

Stop by Christine's blog to give her some tapering assurances and soothe her taper jitters.
She will be running her first full marathon in 14 days! YOU GO, Christine!

My virtual running buddy, Aneta, is running her first marathon today. Do check out her blog and congratulate her. I figured she will post something after she rested a little.
