Rebuild Base Run #2 = 2.11 miles in 26:03 minutes
Location = Treadmill @ Y
I kinda cheated. I ran the first 0.5 mile, stopped, and went to a body-strengthening class for 45 minutes, came back down to the treadmill and finished up the 2 miles.
It was a run/walk kinda deal today. The knee was ok. I had a "feeling" so I didn't continue running but called it quits at a good stopping point. Funny how one gets attuned to their body. I guess, not pushing it is a good thing today.
Busy with work again as I am trying to get the very last few parent conferences done. I made a pot of Cajun red beans and rice yesterday on the Crock-Pot, which meant there's plenty of leftovers for today. It tasted really darn yummy. I'm not dubbed the Asian Cajun for nothing. I didn't take a picture because, frankly, a pot of red beans just doesn't make for a good picture.
I guess the next run will be Saturday. :)
Wish me luck!

Rome Wasn't Built in a Day ...
Neither is a running base.
Today was Rebuild Base Run #1.
I sneakily set out for a 2-mile run without the dogs.
I needed a run by myself. And didn't want to be dragged around by Paddy Wag.
It's MY run!
*sing: Man on the run... man on the run .....
I actually took this picture on my route back.
Jeff Galloway said it best:
"When I finish a run, every part of me is smiling."
So true. So true.
Woo...wheeee!!!!
I was listening to a podcast by Marathon Training Academy.
Good program.

Check it out on iTunes.
On my way back.
The sun was shining behind my back.
Look at those sausage legs.

I'm pretty happy I got the scheduled 2 miles in.
Splits: 10:47, 12:13.
The first mile was wonderful. My legs were fresh.

At about 1.5 mile, I kinda felt a little sumthing sumthing.
So I did a run/walk thing after that.
The boyfriend gave me an "off" day today.
So I don't have to worry about his supper tonight.
I ended up hacking into a pineapple, a cantaloupe and a plum.
And topped that off with some Greek yogurt and honey.
One satisfied girl!
How was your run today?

A marathon done in the kitchen and makes you smell like bananas.
I stayed home by myself and loved it.
It was quiet. I didn't have to get dressed or be at anywhere.
I dozed off. I woke up. I walked around the house. I played on the computer. And dozed off again.
Here are some things I did though, just to show you I am not a total slacker.
I made Fish en Croute.
Stuffed with tilapia, artichoke hearts, some mixed vegetables and crabsticks.
And a egg-white wash on top.
Not a shabby first try.
I had some bananas browning and needed some TLC.
So I gathered some butter, brown sugar, flour, walnuts, vanilla, and eggs
and arranged for a play-date with the bananas.

They got along so well in the mixer and in the oven.
I'm thinking about opening a bottle of wine. Maybe I won't.
I want to get in another 1 mile run tomorrow - by myself, and no walking.
Baby steps... they say.
