Last night, I felt something in my back. It was the same pain I felt some weeks ago. It's not quite as bad as the last time. And I am taking over-the-counter anti-inflammatory meds. I am still running the half on Saturday, even if it means run/walk, run/walk/hobble, run/walk/hobble/crawl. I am doing it.
I also stretched a little this morning. Now, I am not flexible to start with, and with this back pain, it makes it kinda hard to stretch. But, I feel this is something I have to do. Anyway, I am just going to ride a bicycle on Tuesday and Thursday and some yoga and stretching so I'll feel better and go all out on Saturday.
I think that sounds like a halfway decent plan? What do you think? Any other suggestions? No one can talk me out of this half (unless a family member is dying. Seriously.) I'm doing it even though it means me being out of commission for a week or two or three. Then, I can come back and use the "I learned it the hard way" when I talk to the rookies/newbies about running.
