Got tight? Then stretch.

I usually run on Tuesdays.
However, since I didn't get out of the door much last week,
I decided to do an easy 1 miler this morning to make it up.
I wasn't worried about pace.
I really wanted to get used to running in the heat, with the sun beating down on me.
I stepped outside the door at 10:50 a.m.
It was hot.
Finished that 1 mile in 12 minutes.
I'm OK with that.

My Achilles' tendon and calves have been feeling a little tight of late.
While reading about this on the Internet, I came across plantar fasciities.
Here are some exercises I think it might be helpful.

  3. Good job getting out there!!!! The heat SUCKS. It's 10:30 p.m. and 80 degrees here. MAJOR SUCK. Running in the heat is so totally different!! Spring weather didn't last very long. Do you go through crazy amounts of water running in the heat? I do.

Thanks for sharing the exercises! I actually used to have plantar fasciitis.

  4. Wow - that is quite the temperature for so early in the morning. While I'm ready for nice sunny weather, I am certainly NOT ready try running in the heat again. Nice job!
