I ran. I answered. I drank. I am dog-sitting.

Last week, I was Sleeping Beauty.
This week, I am Princess Procrastination
After doing a bunch of I-don't-remember-what-I-dids,
I finally got my bottom to the Y and completed Week 2, Run 2 of my half marathon training.
The run went well.
30 minutes, 2.76 miles.

A number of you asked about my post on Icy Hot and mosquitos.
Did it work?
I think it did.
I think the menthol-ly smell kept some mosquitoes away.
But then again, remember, I was merely dotting my skin with Icy Hot and it was over 100-degree outside.
I had to re-dot myself pretty quickly because:
(a) I rubbed the Icy Hot dots with my clothes
(b) my perspiration washed it away

Triple digit temperatures are here to stay for a while.
I cut up a huge watermelon and juiced part of it.

I added some salt into the pitcher.
That and the ice - it was absolutely refreshing!

Lastly, I have been "old man sitting" my boyfriend's aunt's black Lab - Limit.
He is on the left and Paddy is on the right.
He is at least 11 years old.
Paddy gives him LOTS of sugars.
I don't know what to think.

Juicy!

Ran 4.6 miles outside in almost 60 minutes.

A running gal came back from running after several months of hiatus.  A series of injuries, nursing sick kiddos, and doing too much in too little time kept her from running. But she is back and it was great!
Ms. T has the sweetest, gentlest voice and it was just nice listening to her talk today.  She talked about her husband and her two boys (who are recovering from a flu) and her injuries.  She stayed active during her non-running days - biking and teaching classes at the Y.  We took it slow today because Ms. M is recovering from her flu.  And I was coughing. Still a lot of drainage.

Gonna do a couple of miles Tuesday and Thursday and head up to NOLA for my 2nd half marathon!  Oh my!!

*****

I came home and got the juicer going.

A delicious concoction of apples, oranges, a lemon and 2 tomatoes.
Yum!

Gonna go take a shower and a quick nap.
Then get ready for the day!!

Friday Night and the Lights are Low ...

Looking for a place to go .....
And I went to the Y for a 3-mile run.
Took me 32 minutes on the treadmill and managed another negative splits today.

Most normal people would be out having dinner at some restaurants.
Me? I had an uninspiring dinner.
Shrimp was bland. Spaghetti was bland. Tandoori chicken was bland.
Weird that these were delicious tasty and full of flavor a few days ago.

So, after dinner, while most regular, non-boring, happening youngsters are out partying and drinking,
I stayed home and am drinking to my heart's content!
Here's a pitcher of freshly juiced oranges and apples, on the rocks!
Yes, I'm drinking the ENTIRE pitcher.

Good thing the taste buds aren't acting funny on this.
(Yes, that's plastic wrap over my drink because I'm paranoid about having non-kitchen air/random puppy hair fall off my shirt and into  my drink.)
